Stellamara
Based within Turkish, Arabic, Balkan, Persian, Medieval European and Indian musical traditions, Stellamara creates original evocative soundscapes that are now considered to be a new model in contemporary world music.
At its core is vocalist Sonja Drakulich and multi-instrumentalist Gari Hegedus. Their music features the talents of sound designer Jaime Paulos and percussionist Susu Pampanin and Tobias Roberson. Together they beautifully express their devotion to the music of these cultures with both original and traditional compositions. Their incorporation of subtle atmospheric backdrops and sound design is uniquely created from primarily acoustic sources such as the yayli tambur, viola, ney and zurna. The result of this creation is a sublime new level of mystery, beauty and depth.

“Exotic instruments have been carefully and gently molded to form an other-worldly base for the evocative, gossamer rich as a golden bell voice of Sonja Drakulich. Stellamara is steller.”
