Dear supporters of Parcel B,

As you probably know, in May 2009 Justice Nat Agliano granted a public easement over, not only the trail connecting Quarry to Veteran's Park, but over all of "Parcel B" property. An additional settlement, signed by all parties in June, secures this ruling from further litigation. You can read about the details here.

As part of the terms of the court settlement, the City of Monterey is responsible for maintaining the greenbelt easement over the trails and greenbelt property. You can now help in this effort by making a contribution to the City to assist in defraying the maintenance expenses, as well as the court cost of the years of litigation required to defend the public's right to enjoy this land.

If you support the City's defense of public access to this land and the benefits it affords our community...

If you support the City's responsibility to maintain the land as a natural habitat and to fire safe standards...

Then you can now voice your support and appreciation by making a contribution to the Parcel B Maintenance Fund. Please consider writing a check made out to the "City of Monterey" with a note designating the funds to be deposited in the account: "Parcel B Maintenance Fund."

Your contribution is tax deductible under section 170(c) of the Internal Revenue Code (check with your tax advisor for more information). Please mail checks to:
